Imo State Notorious Robbers Arrested

Security operatives have arrested two notorious armed robbers during an operation on Friday along Okigwe/Umuahaia Expressway in Imo state.

It was gathered that the suspects were arrested by security operatives while robbing their victims in the area.

According to reports, other members of the robbery gang fled on sighting the security men before these two were caught in the process.

They were beaten mercilessly after their arrest and later transferred to a police station for further investigation.

6-Year-Old Boy Abused By His Guardians Hospitalised

A 6-year-old boy known as Emmanuel, who was suspected to be a victim of child abuse and ill-treatment, has been hospitalised in Ondo state.

The young boy landed at the medical care unit of State Specialist hospital in Akure some days ago along with his belly severely perforated and intestines reaped out.

In line with his guardians, Monday and Angela, a couple at Ibukunoluwa area of Oke-Ijebu, Akure in Ondo state; they claimed the little boy was a victim of a terrible domestic accident, but Mercy-Babs news gathered that the little boy sustained the life-and-death wound as a result of abuse and maltreatment.

Also, there were obvious indications that Emmanuel was severely whipped as blood-laden marks overwhelmed his body.

“He terribly fell down from somewhere and his belly got torn”, the couple claimed.

Confirming the incident, officials from the children affairs department of the Ondo State Ministry of Women Affairs said the matter had been referred to the police for investigation.

Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje Wins 2018 Best Governor Amidst Bribe Allegations

The Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, has won The Telegraph Newspaper’s Best Governor in 2018 within the areas of health and education at the Federal Palace hotel in Lagos on Saturday, despite an unresolved bribery videos and allegation against him.

According to the news gathered, over 200 achievements recorded within the state’s health sector and others in education under the leadership of Ganduje.

A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to Ganduje, quoted Mrs Egbemode saying: “We believe that if we appreciate those that did good things we are at the same time encouraging them to do more in life.”

“Globally, education and health are two significant areas where successful governance and credible development index are often measured and rated.

Speaking while presenting the award to the governor, a former minister of petroleum, Don Etiebet, on behalf of The Telegraph company, acknowledged how Ganduje transformed both the health and education sectors in Kano State, “within a twinkle of an eye.”.

He said; “The outstanding performance of governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje made him stand out among his peers. While understanding the relevance of education in the state development, Ganduje believes in healthy population. That is why he did it diligently to see that he leaves indelible marks in these all-important sectors.”

In a 3-minute acceptance speech, Governor Ganduje appreciated the award. He spoke about the multi-cultural nature of the state, saying that “being the most populous state in the country, we don’t want to have a population that will be a liability to us. We want see that our population becomes an asset.

Not a liability. That is why we are doing our best in these and all other areas in this administration.

“We assure you that Kano will continue to excel in all sectors of the state. This honour, as being presented here, is meant to encourage us to continue building a stronger state with viable economy and productive population,” he reportedly said.

She narrated that apart from stealing from her, he does not perform his statutory roles as a husband.

“My husband is a thief; he steals from me and doesn’t perform his responsibilities as a husband. At least if I don’t have a child of my own, I should have rest of mind, enough is enough”.

The President of the Court, Mr. Sakirudeen Adekola, who did not hesitate in granting the request made by Yinka, said it was clear that love no longer existed between the couple advising them to move on with their lives individually.

“It is clear that all efforts to reconcile the parties had failed and in that circumstance, it was meaningless to further advise them to keep living together.

The President said that any party who was not satisfied with the judgment can appeal within 30 days and warned that the violation of any of the orders made by the court amounts to contempt and shall be so treated with the appropriate sanction”.

Police Arrests Young Man For Stealing His Mother's N300K

A young man has been apprehended after stealing over N300,000 from his mother’s bank account in Delta state.

According to reports, the suspect named Oke Precious popularly referred to as ‘Young Money’, allegedly cleared his mother’s account to enjoy himself along with his friends.

He took the huge sum of money to flex with his friends and other girls while pretending to be living large like an Internet fraudster known as ‘Yahoo Boy’.

It was gathered that the suspect stole the money two weeks ago and was nabbed yesterday in company of his friend after the police traced him to popular Valerie hotel in Sapele area.

He shared pictures of himself and his friends while having fun and also flaunted wads of cash on social media. The suspect and his friend are currently cooling off in police custody as investigation into the matter is underway.

Man Lands In Court For Kissing Lagos Princess

Based on new report, a 28-year old, Fidelis Michael, was said to have committed a sacrilege after he indicated interest to marry the daughter of a top class monarch and kissed her in public to the detest of the royal tradition in Ejigbo area of Lagos.

It was gathered that Michael was caught and charged before a court for assault and remanded in prison custody by pecking the princess in the public.

The alleged assault took place inside Ejigbo Market where the Oba’s daughter, Princess Dolapo, went to buy undisclosed items and met Michael.

It was not fully establish whether Michael and the princess were love birds but it was certain that they have met probably in the market before the incident happened.

It was gathered that when the Oba heard about what happened, he directed his aides to apprehend the culprit and hand him over to the police at Ejigbo Division for prosecution.

Thus, Michael was arraigned before the Ejigbo Magistrates court for the alleged offence. According to police, the defendant reportedly pecked Princess Dolapo’s mouth without her consent inside Ejigbo Market.
He pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Inspector G. Simon, did not oppose his bail but asked the court to give a date for hearing for the police to prove that Michael pecked Princess Dolapo’s mouth without her consent.

Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mr. L.K.J. Layeni, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum. He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect the bail condition.

The matter was adjourned till 3rd December, 2018.

It was scooped that it was not that the monarch was against the princess having suitors but engaging the princess and pecking her in the market place was not decent enough as the daughter of the royal majesty.

8 Suspected Cultists Arrested In Ajah, Lagos

An Ogudu Magistrates’ Court has arraigned eight suspected cultists terrorising members of the general publicwithin the Oke-Iranle space of Ajah, in Lagos State.

The suspects were identified as, Olarigbe Olanrewaju, 22; Moses Ademola, 23; Evans Ezikiel, 20; Taiwo Oluwasegun, 19; Ganiyu Bashiru, 21; Wasiu Balogun, 29; Sunday Omete, 24; and Tunde James, 20.

The Police Prosecutor, Insp. Lucky Ihiehie, told the court that the accused committed the offences on Nov. 8 at Oke-Iranle area of Ajah, in Lagos, at about 11:00 p.m.

He said that the eight accused, conspired with themselves as members of Eiye Confraternity and engaged in a fight with another group of unknown boys with dangerous weapons.

He said, “Some members of the public also sustained serious injuries while some properties were destroyed.

“They were arrested by a team of police men, led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Langbasa Division, Ajah and transferred to the Anti- Cultism Unit, State CID, Yaba on Nov. 9’’

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges and were granted bail in the sum of N50, 000 each by the Magistrate, Mrs E. Kubeinje.

The magistrate in her ruling ordered the accused to produce two sureties each in like sum.

In addition, the sureties were to show evidence of tax payments, to the Lagos State Government.

The offences contravened Sections 42 (a), 51 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015, (Revised).

The case was adjourned until Dec. 18 for mention.

OAU S*x For Mark Lecturer, Professor Richard Akindele Lands In Prison

The Federal High Court, Osogbo, Osun State has ordered that former lecturer at the Obafemi Awolowo University OAU, academician Richard Akindele that is standing trial for allegedly asking one in all his students, Ms Monica Osagie, to possess sex with him in exchange for marks, be remanded in jail.

Akindele was dragged before the court by the independent Corrupt Practices and other related Offences, ICPC on a four-count charge.

The commission said that Akindele’s actions were contrary to Sections 8 (1) (a) (ii), and 18 (d) of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act, 2000 and are punishable under the same sections.

One of the counts reads:

“That you , Professor Akindele, on or about the 16th day of September, 2017 at Ile -Ife did corruptly ask for sexual benefits for yourself from Ms. Monica Osagie on account of favour to be afterwards shown to her by you in the discharge of your official duties as a lecturer in the Department of Management and Accounting, Obafemi Awolowo University, to wit; altering her academic grades in the course with code MBA 632- Research Method from fail to pass; and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 8 (1)(a) (ii) of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act, 2000.”

After the charges were read to him, Akindele pleaded not guilty.

The lawyer of the accused, Omotosho Wale Francis pleaded with the court to adjourn the case as a result of some irregularities made by the Commission.

Akindele was sacked from the institution in June after he was found guilty.

Man Killed For Sleeping With A Married Woman

The Niger State Police Command has arrested Joseph Abanda, for the death of Umaru Yakubu of Kwagana village in Paikoro Local Government Area of the state.

It was confirmed the suspect’s arrest on Tuesday, stating that a team of detectives attached to the Kanfin-Koro Division apprehended the suspect over Yakubu’s murder.

Abanda, who hails from Beni Village in the Muya Local Government Area of the state, was alleged to have killed the deceased for having s*x with his wife.

It was learnt that Abenda caught the deceased having s*x with his wife in a bush and attacked and killed him.

It was further gathered that the suspect had previously warned the deceased to stay away from his wife, adding that he was prepared to kill and suffer the consequences.

The suspect told Northern City News that he killed his victim with a stick and another dangerous weapon. He said;

“I had earlier warned him to leave my wife alone; I asked him to stop sleeping with my wife otherwise I would kill him and d*mn the consequences; the worst that would happen was that I would go to jail.

“I killed him for the atrocities he committed against my family; it is an abomination in Islam to sleep with another man’s wife. It is a mortal sin.”

Bus Conductor Beats Up His Driver Over Money And Fuel

According to new report, a commercial bus conductor on Monday beat his driver around 3PM in Mile One, Port Harcourt, forced passersby to intervene and restore peace.

Trouble started as their vehicle ran out of fuel and also the driver set to shut for the day and opted to pay his conductor N2,000 rather than the agreed N3,000 for the whole day.

It was gathered that the bus conductor got infuriated by the decision of his boss and insisted that the earlier agreed amount must be paid to him regardless of what had happened.

An eyewitness identified as Confidence, said the commercial bus driver and his conductor started an argument, which resulted in a fight.

He said, “The driver wanted to pay his conductor N2,000 as against the N3,000 agreed by both of them. This was because they had closed earlier than expected because their vehicle ran out of fuel unexpectedly and there was not enough money to refuel the vehicle.

“The conductor, however, insisted that the agreed sum of N3,000 be paid to him by the driver. But when the driver refused, a fight ensued. The bus conductor beat up his driver, tearing his clothes and also stripping him n*ked. We had to intervene to settle the fight.”

When contacted, the Rivers State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Nnamdi Omoni, said he had not been briefed about the incident.

Notorious Nigerian Fraudster Caught By 'Catfish'

Laura Lyons, a non-public investigator who is a specialist in tracking down on-line romance fraudsters, otherwise called “catfish” has unmasked a Nigerian fraudster.

According to BBC, Laura Lyons exhibit as Kathryn Hunter – a wealthy woman searching for love. in keeping with her: “It’s not long before the catfish begin to bite. Four men approach me on-line and that they all claim to be US troopers.

One of the soldiers, who calls himself Paul Richard, comes on strong. The number he rings from has a Nigerian dialing code. After a brief silence, a man with a thick African accent comes on the line. .

He doesn’t sound like the American soldier whose picture he is using. But Paul explains away his accent by saying he has a cold. An online reverse image search leads me to the Instagram page of the real owner of the pictures the catfish was using.

For the next few weeks, my producer continues to speak to Richard on the phone as I listen in. Then our catfish makes a mistake. Richard accidentally leaves a name tag – Dan Coolman – on one of his WhatsApp pictures.

We search through all the Dan Coolmans in Nigeria and we find one who runs a barbershop in Ibadan. He’s using the same number that our catfish has been calling us from.

Coolman is another false name, but we discover the phone is registered to Daniel Joseph Okechkwu. We have finally uncovered the real identity of our catfish. We head for Ibadan, but by the time we get there he’s gone.

The doors to the barber shop are locked and locals say it’s been closed for weeks. We decide to call him and tell him who we really are. He confesses and claims it’s the first romance scam he’s ever pulled and that he has been forced to do it because of the closure of his barber shop.

He sounds sincere and he apologises for the way he has treated us. He says he wants to stop being a romance fraudster. But he needs us to give him money, so that he can afford to stop tricking other people out of their cash. It’s a classic catfish twist. They never give up on the scam even when they have been rumbled.“

A woman was crushed severely by angry mob when she allegedly scarf a baby and was caught in IMOstate. It was gathered that the woman allegedly seize a two-month old baby whom the mother finished breastfeeding on Monday, 19th November at Mammy market in Obinze, Owerri West space of the state.

According to Tosin Rosy, while the mother was about to dress the baby’s bed, the woman (suspected kidnapper) who looked pregnant – stole the baby and was walking away before the mother noticed and raised an alarm.



The mother’s loud scream attracted her neighbours who intervened and descended on the suspected kidnapper. She was later dragged to the police station after receiving severe torture from the angry neighbours.

22 Suspected Armed Robbers Arrested In Kaduna

The Kaduna State Police Command on Wednesday apprehended 22 suspects armed in robbery and kidnapping. The State Commissioner of Police (CP), Abdur-Rahman Ahmad, made the revealing at a press briefing at the command’s headquarters in Kaduna.

Ahmad stated that seven of the suspects were nabbed in affiliation to alleged criminal conspiracy and robbery.

According to him, four of the suspects were also arrested for criminal conspiracy and kidnapping, while two suspects were arrested for criminal conspiracy and impersonation.

He said five suspects were also arrested in connection with cheating, criminal conspiracy, theft and receiving stolen property.

Ahmad said

“one suspect was arrested for criminal intimidation by anonymous Communication and three suspects for criminal conspiracy, burglaryand theft

“Recoveries made included two locally made Revolver Barrel Pistols, one locally made pistol, three 9MM live ammunition, 14 sets of plasma television and one laptop computer, three phones (Nokia, 1 Samsung and 1 Vivo Android), a tricycle (Keke Napep), one cutlass and assorted charms from the suspects.

The CP expressed delight over the command’s recent breakthrough in combating crime and criminality in the state.

He said that the suspects currently undergoing investigation would be prosecuted as soon as Police investigations were completed.

The CP also reassured members of the public of the Command’s willingness to fight all forms of crime and criminality in the state.

He explained that his command enjoyed kind support and understanding from members of the public through prompt and relevant information that assisted in exposing unscrupulous elements among them.

“The Kaduna State Police Command will not hesitate to deal decisively with any person or group that directly or indirectly does any act that can bring about disharmony in the state or any part thereof,” he added.

Ahmad further appealed to the people of the state to continue to live in peace with one another and avoid using social media platforms to spread fake news or speeches capable of inciting violence or breaching the peace.

26-Year-Old Jealous Woman Stabs Own Boyfriend To Death

A 26-year-old woman allegedly injured her 24-year-old ex-boyfriend to death. in step with police spokesperson, Captain Sergio Kock, it absolutely was alleged that on Tuesday night, the girl entered the ex-boyfriend’s place in Phelindaba, Barkly West in South Africa.
