Driver, Conductor Drag Each Other In Gutter Over N1500

There was serious drama, yesterday, along the Lekki-Epe motorway, Lagos, as a conductor engaged the driverof a bus in a very fight over N1,500.

According to the conductor, the driver refused to pay him for the previous day’s job. The fight reportedly started within the bus before they took it to the gutter.

All their passengers were left stranded and people that had already paid, ended up losing their cash, as they eventually boarded another bus.

A Nigerien Who Stabs Man To Death In Jigawa Arrested

The Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) has apprehended one Isa Idrisa, a Nigerien, who allegedly stabbed a person to death in Hadejia, Jigawa State.

The comptroller of NIS within the state, Alhaji Garba Abdul, disclosed this to newsmen while parading the suspect in Dutse on Tuesday.

Garba stated that the suspect injured one Suleiman Adamu of Kofar Gidan Talba within the Hadejia metropolis to death in 2008 and flee to his country, Niger.

The suspect who was arrested near Maigatari and Gumel, a border area between Federal Republic of Nigeria and Niger Republic ran out of luck when officers and men of the NIS on patrol comprehended him at the border.

Garba said charms and different concoctions were found on the suspect.

However, upon interrogation, the suspect said; “I had a misunderstanding with the deceased and we fought at a political rally in 2008 during former Gov. Ibrahim Turaki’s regime.

Deputy Senate President, Ekweremadu, Wife, Son Escape Assassination Attempt

Nigeria's deputy senate president, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, his wife and son escaped an assassination attempt at about 4am on Tuesday.

An aide to the DSP who does not want his name in print told newsmen that, “The armed men discreetly evaded the security at Ekweremadu’s Apo Quarters residence, to gain entry into his house”.

The attackers, who could not immediately shoot in order not to attract the attention of the security personnel on duty, took hold of his son and commanded him to lead them to the Senator’s bedroom.

It was at the Senator’s bedroom that a struggle ensued, leading to the arrest of one of the assailants with dangerous weapons and housebreaking devices, while the rest managed to escape.

The arrested member of the gang has, however, refused to divulge any information on the operation and has been handed over to the police.

The aide said, “Ekweremadu, his wife, and one of his sons were in the house at the time of the attack”.

It could be recalled that the lawmaker narrowly escaped an attempt on his life in Abuja on November 17, 2015.

“Although the 2015 incident was reported to the security agencies, nothing has been heard about the matter till date”, Uche Aniechukwu, a media aide to Ekweremadu told our reporter.

50-Year-Old Man Arrested For S*xually Abusing A Neighbour's Daughter

The Lagos State police command has arrested a 50-year-old man from Niger Republic for allegedly fingering a 10-year-old neighbour's daughter in Abule Egba, Lagos state.

The suspect, Lukman Haruna, was reportedly apprehended on 2nd, November after a neighbour, Mrs. Abali reported the case to the police when she discovered stains of blood round the girl’s private part.

Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal, said during preliminary interrogation, the victim told the police that the suspect had been fingering her private for quite some time.

He said the victim was taken to a hospital where medical examination carried out revealed that the victim had been abused severally in the past. “The victim identified the suspect as the one responsible for her predicament,” Edgal said.

Esabienlen Ose kingsley, a notable anti-drug advocate and owner of a Benin, Edo State-based NGO that fights against drug abuse, has been apprehended for drug trafficking in Italy alongside his spouse, Gertrude.

The 33-year-old man, his 32-year-old spouse and a Kenyan of 39 were arrested by the Carabinieri at their Vicofertile, Parma home, with 1.2kg of hard drug that they were getting ready to flood the market with.

8 Nigerians R*pe Lady In Front Of Her Boyfriend In Europe

Italian media reported how eight Nigerians allegedly r*ped a young lady in front of her boyfriend after holding them hostage in Province of Arezzo, Italy. 

The couple believed to be Nigerians were offered to be hosted at the house where the Nigerian immigrants live as the man's girlfriend was asked to prepare food for them without knowing plans they are up to. 

The boyfriend was beaten by the Nigerian migrants according to the report while the leader of the group allegedly grabbed the girl and threatened her with the knife before s*xually abusing her along with others.

In line with the reports, after the couple were allowed to go the next morning, they reported the issue to the Arezzo police department as report has it that the suspects are currently on the run.

Police in accordance with report identified four of the Nigerians and have accused them for various crimes including s*xual violence in the axis.

Banker Breaks ATM Vault, Carts Away N14million

A ravaged banker, Emmanuel Emeka Onuma, has been apprehended for allegedly breaking into the vault of an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) and cartage away N14 million according to the new report.

The suspect, in line with the police was a staff of the bank where he was sacked in August for fraudulent activities. The suspect told journalists that he worked with the bank for over 11 years while he was discharged unjustly without any payment.

Reacting to how the suspect was arrested, ACP Olumese said, “On 1st November, police operatives attached to Garki Division arrested Onuma, 34, who broke into the ATM lobby of a bank located in Garki on 19th October 2018 at about 12 midnight and stole the sum of N14 million.”

He said the suspect confessed that some of the money he stole from the bank was converted to foreign currency ($33,000) at Abuja and Kaduna for ease of movement. He added that $28,000, N1,650,120, nine pieces of Ghanaian cedis and flight tickets were recovered from him.

Lagos State Police Commissioner, Edgal Imohimi Bans Beer Parlours Around Police Stations

Lagos State Police commissioner, Edgal Imohimi, has ordered the closure of all beer parlours within police communities in Lagos state.

His order comes after a policeman within the command, Kadima Useni with appointment number 176219, was laid-off when a viral video showed him being drunk while on duty at  Akowonjo, Dopemu area of the state.

The CP believes closing down the beer parlours can avoid repeatitions of such and also the dismissal of the officer can function as  a deterrent to others.

According to the state police command spokesperson, CSP Chike Oti, the Lagos police boss directed the officer in charge of the Command Provost Section to embark on tour of all police formations and barracks within the state with a view to identifying and shutting all beer parlours within the police community so as to prevent a reoccurence of such an embarrassment.

In the same vein, the commissioner warned against offering policemen alcoholic drinks while on duty by members of the public. He added that henceforth any policeman found drunk on duty will be visited with similar punishment.
