Police Kills Notorious Robbers In Delta State

Security operatives have gunned down some robbery suspects when pursuit right down to a hotel in Delta, in line with reports.

It was gathered that the safety men who had been on the search for the ill-famed robbers, traced them to a brothel on Adeola by Crudas road junction in Sapele of the state – where they were most likely having fun on Wednesday.

The robbery suspects were gunned down while trying to take off after sighting by the security agents.

It will be recalled that some parts of Sapele over the last few months have been under siege of armed robbery attack as residents lamented and called on the security agencies to step up to the insecurity in the area.

This is coming days after police cop attached to the Delta State Police Command, was killed by suspected bandits in Asaba, the Delta State capital.

Two rifles and a pistol were also reportedly carted away by the bandits during the attack on the policemen, who were said to be on a stop – and – search duty in Asaba.

NDLEA Uncovers 12 Containers Loaded With N340million Tramadol Tablets In Lagos

The National Drug law enforcement Agency says it's uncovered 340 million Tramadol tablets in 12 containers at the Apapa port in Lagos State.

Head of Public Affairs of the agency, Mr Jonah Achema, expressed this in an exceedingly statement on Thursday, in Abuja.

Achema revealed that the tablets that were in varied dosages starting from 120 milligrams to 250 milligrams were recovered from 12 containers in the current search in Apapa port.

He said the containers were on the watch-list of NDLEA since November, 2017 and were brought to Nigeria Customs Service for search based on the agency’s reasonable suspicion of the containers.

He stated that the NCS on Wednesday, dropped 28 of 62 containers slated for search, among which 12 of them were been found to contain tramadol.

“The search is still ongoing.

“Tramadol is a pharmaceutical drug which has been subject of abuse by the populace.

“In one single operation in November last year, the agency intercepted 160 million tablets of tramadol at the Apapa port which ranged from 220 to 250 milligrams.

“They were imported from India using false documents in the name of an unregistered company,” Achema said.

According to Colonel Muhammad Abdallah (retd), Chairman, NDLEA, it is doubtful that this influx of Tramadol is for legitimate use.

“Tramadol, which is a derivative of Opiate is for post-surgery application but even if everybody in Nigeria undergoes surgery every year, we do not need the quantity that enters our country.

“It only suggests their diversion for illicit use”.

Family Of 4 Die After Eating 'Amala' In Kwara

According to the new report gathered, a family of four in Ilorin have been feared dead after eating `amala’ meal, suspected to be poisoned.

The incident happened at Magaji-Ogo community behind Kwara State College of Arabic and Islamic Legal Studies, in Ilorin West Local Government Area.

It was learnt that four others who took from the meal, had also been hospitalised at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH).

A source told newsmen that the victims took the meal on Sunday night before three of them were found dead the following morning.

According to him, the fourth casualty, who was the head of the family, died on Wednesday.

“Those feared dead are the family head, his sister and two children, while those recuperating in the hospital are the mother and three other children.

“The corpses of the deceased had been buried in accordance with Islamic rite. They were eight that took the meal.

“Though we are not sure yet of the cause of death, the meal was taken alongside amphibian and there is a suspicion that they died of poisoning.

“Officials from the state Ministry of Health were in the community to take samples of the meal for test but nothing was yet to be said of the findings,’’ the source said.

Dr Oluwatosin Fakayode, Director, Public Health and Disease Control in the state Ministry of Health, also confirmed the incident.

He, however, said that the ministry was yet to identify the cause of the “ugly and unfortunate occurrence.”

Fakayode told newsmen that samples from the meal were taken for laboratory investigation, which would be out within the next 24 hours.

“As it stands, it is difficult to say the cause until the result is out.

“However, we are definite that it is food poison because of the symptoms, but we are not sure of the food item that is culpable.

“We learnt they took these amphibian that they hawk around with it. So we are not sure if it is the source of the death because some of them are poisonous.

“Though we have not identified the culprit in terms of whether it is organism or chemical, definitely, it is a symptom of food poison.

“But our suspicion is the amphibian. It could be preservatives that were used on the items that were used for the meal,’’ he said.

Police Arrests A Cultist That Killed 100 Level Female Student Over iPhone

In line with new report, The Bayelsa State Vigilante Service has apprehended two suspects in connection with the killing of Miss Seiyefa Fred who was gunned down last Thursday evening by hoodlums during an operation in Yenagoa, Bayelsa the state capital.

The suspects were arrested at Amarata area of the state this morning by 5:am. The names of the suspect are: Junior Danumunabo from Nembe Ogbolomabiri, a 20-year-old boy, who resides at Gwe Gwe street in Yenagoa and one Ezeagi who is allegedly the boss and gave them guns.

Report has it that the suspects are fully ready to cooperate with the Nigeria police force to fetch out everyone involved in the act.



Seiyefa Fred, a 100 level student of Niger Delta University in Amassoma, was attacked by suspected cultists who asked for her new iPhone which she reportedly gave to them after hesitating according to the report.

32-Year-Old Driver Remanded In Prison For Allegedly Forcing A Woman Into Prostitution

A Magistrates’ Court on Friday ordered that a 32-year old driver, Savior Dabo of Bam Bam village, Makurdi, whothe police suspect of kidnapping and forcing a 22-year- old lady, Helen Ijir, into prostitution be remanded in jail.

The jurist, Mr P.S Chaha, adjourned the matter till November 21, for more mention as the plea of the suspect couldn't be taken for want of jurisdiction.

Police charged Dabo with three counts of criminal conspiracy, abduction, and women trafficking.

The prosecutor, Mr Godwin Nev, told the court that the mother of the victim, Mrs Juliana Ijir, of Behind Modern Market, Makurdi reported the matter at the ‘D’ Division Police Station on Sept 7, 2018.

Nev said that Helen’s mother reported that her daughter was missing.

Nev said after a search, on Sept 15, Helen called her from Ouagadougou, alleging that the accused took her there to work for him.

The prosecutor said that the accused forced the victim into prostitution.

He said that the victim was able to escape from the men that the accused forced her to live with.

The prosecutor informed the court that the accused person was later arrested when he came back home.

According to the prosecutor, the offence contravened the provisions of Sections 97 and 283 of the Penal Code Laws of Benue State, 2004 and Section 3(2) of the Abduction, Hostage Taking, Kidnapping, Secret Cult and Similar Activities Prohibition Law of Benue, 2017

Zamfara Twin Kidnappers Demand N15million For Ransom

The abductors Zamfara twin sisters have vowed to kill one of the ladies if payment of their ransom is not madeon time. The twins, Hassana and Hussaina, were abducted last month in Dauran town while distributing the invitationcards of their wedding.

A family member, Ibrahim Abubakar, that spoke with the abductors and also the twins on phone said the abductors had reduced the ransom to N15million.

“We are only able to get N6m selling our properties and receiving contributions from family members, politicians, traders and ordinary people,” Mr Abdubakar told newsmen on Thursday night.

In a viral audio clip, one of the twin sisters, Hussaina was heard sobbing, complaining about maltreatment and appealing for help.

“I am battling with headache. We are in dire situation, they are about to kill us,” Hussaina sobbed.

“They beat us every morning. Please help rescue us. Even yesterday, they slaughtered some people in our presence.

“We are starving. Please get contributions even from the general public.”

Meanwhile, one of the abductor’s interjected, saying the call would be the last he would make with the twins as they failed to deliver the ransom.

A report by gathered has shown that tension and worry of the unknown have gripped Oghara community in Ethiope West local government in Delta State following the alleged murder of a 43-year-old farmer, known as Ejiro Kelvin, by suspected ritualists within the area.

It was gathered that the incident, that occurred on Thursday night within the community, has thrown several of the residents off balance as they panic over the ritualists’ activities that have unfold like wild hearth within thecommunity in recent times.

But the police at the Oghara Police Division, who spoke to journalists on the condition of anonymity, said the vital parts of the body of the victim were removed with the remains dumped in the bush, adding that it was obvious that the victim was killed by suspected ritualists.

It was further gathered that the victim’s genital organ and his two ears were removed while other parts of his body were seen to be mutilated and dumped in the bush where the police discovered him after a long search.

Confirming the murder of the victim, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Mustafa Muhammad told journalists in Asaba that the police were investigating the incident, adding that “I can confirm that it was a ritual murder and the police will do everything possible to bring to book the perpetrators.

“The police have removed the body of the farmer from the bush and it has been deposited in the state-owned hospital mortuary; vital parts of the body were removed. The police will ensure that the people responsible for it are brought to book.”

Meanwhile, the police commissioner disclosed that the police have arrested two persons in connection with the killing of a tricycle operator at Infant Jesus road in Asaba, adding that the suspects: James Kennedy and Emeka George, were arrested by the police on the strength of intelligence gathering in the area.

CP Muhammad disclosed that the suspects will be charged to court upon completion of investigation, adding that the body of the tricycle operator allegedly killed last Tuesday in the area has been deposited at the Federal Medical Center (FMC) mortuary.

The tricycle operator was allegedly shot dead at night by a group of gunmen who vanished into thin air after confirming he has given up the ghost.

An eyewitness, Chinoye Egbo said the victim, identified as Chiedu Nkwokwo, is a father of two children, who hailed from Onicha South local government area of the state and was eking out a living through the use of tricycle.

Suspected 'Yahoo Boy' Arrested In Lagos

According to the report gathered, the Economic and financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Lagos Zonal office, has arraigned one Olugbeje Nelson Adeoye before Justice Muslim Hassan of the Federal high court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos on a 12-count charge bordering on possession of documents containing false data, impersonation and phishing.

The offence is contrary to Section 32(1) of the law-breaking (Prohibition Prevention) Act 2005.

One of the counts reads: “That you, Olugbeje Nelson Adeoye, on or about the 25th of May, 2018 at Lagos within the jurisdiction of the Federal High Court with intent to defraud had in your possession document showing several e-mail addresses linked to your mobile phone number +234 08168480479 and which e-mail addresses evidenced your having phished and compromised unsuspecting members of the public e-mail addresses and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 32(1) of the Cybercrime (Prohibition Prevention) Act, 2015.”

Adeoye, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against him.

In view of his plea, the prosecuting counsel, Vera Agboje, asked the court for a trial date and urged the court to remand the accused in prison custody.

However, the defence counsel, Eze Njoku, moved an application for bail on behalf of his client.

Justice Hassan adjourned till November 26, 2018 and remanded the accused in prison custody pending the hearing of his bail application.

I Robbed Because Of My Wife- Arrested Robber

A 38-year-old suspected thief, Ibrahim Kazeem, has confessed that he took to crime so as to satisfy his spouse who was persistently demanding cash from him. Kazeem was recently arrested by operatives of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS), Lagos State Police Command.

He is the leader of a four-man robbery gang, that specialised in beating up their victims before pushing them out of moving vehicles.

The suspect, who claimed to have abandoned his job as a commercial driver for theft, said:

“I am from Okeho town in Kajola Local Government Area, Oyo State, but I was born in Ajegunle, Lagos State.

‘’I am the first child of my parents, who are now late. One of my brothers is a 500 level Industrial Chemistry student in one of the universities in Nigeria. Another one is in secondary school, while two others are learning handiwork here in Lagos; I am the one taking care of them.

‘’My problems started when I married my wife. She gave me children(sic), but she did not obey me. Instead, she continued to make more demands that overstretched me. Instead of cutting her coat according to her size, she would tell me to do what real men do, no matter the risk.

‘’There was one soup I told her that I used to do charm, and that on no account must she touch it. When I went to work, she went and destroyed the charm, despite my warning to her that if the soap is destroyed I would die. Having realized that she had no value for my life, coupled with too many demands from her, I sent her away from my house.’’

He said his estranged wife relocated to Ojo, where she got a new apartment and now lives with his children.

‘’This overstretched me because I am still taking care of my children. As a commercial driver, I used to go home everyday with two or three thousand naira after delivery of five thousand naira to the owner of the bus, yet it was not enough to take care of my family.

‘’I was still managing (as a commercial driver) until one of my friends named Tijani and my conductor brought the idea to rob people and make quick money. They called it advanced pickpocket work. It is different from ‘one chance’ because we don’t use force or weapon to collect phones and money from victims.

‘’This is what we do; the conductor and Tijani, would start haggling the fare while the bus is on motion. As the argument becomes heated, members of the gang who posed as passengers would start disposessing passengers of their phones and money.

“On October 30 October, 2018, along Surulere area, we did not know who alerted the Lagos State Police Commissioner, Mr Edgal Imohimi, and he directed the officer in charge of FSARS, Mr Peter Gana, to pursue us.

‘’We were robbing some victims, when the victims raised the alarm that attracted FSARS operatives, hence, they arrested us.’’

Meanwhile, another suspect, Andrew Hezekiah, 29, from Ugheli, Delta State, said his gang was different from Kazeem’s gang. He gave the names of his gang members as, Tajudeen(the conductor, now at large); Yusuf and Sikiru Tajudeen.

Hezekiah said: “ I have been to prison for the same ‘one chance’ operation two years ago. This boy, Tajudeen is a bad friend. He joined the gang on his own. He had no problem before he joined the gang.

‘’I have robbed more than five times, but I haven’t saved up to N50,000, because of the type of life we; we live as if there is no tomorrow.

In his confession, Tajudeen said: ’’I am from Ibadan, but Oga Hezekiah wanted to assist me with a sum of N10,000 which my sister needed urgently as a student, but instead of helping me, he lured me into his gang.

‘’I have followed them to work (operation) more than five times, but I did not save up to five thousand naira as I am talking to you.’’

Police source said the suspects would be charged to court at the end of the investigation.

Fake Policemen In Possession Of We ed Arrested

According to the report gathered, operatives of the NDLEA have arrested two fake policemen, who were conveying 50 bags of weeds, suspected to be cannabis sativa and weighing 685 kilogrammes, along Okpella-Okene road.

The fake policemen operated with a black Toyota Hiace bus, marked Ondo AKR 392 LZ and labelled with stickers of the emblem of the Nigeria Police.

Speaking to newsmen while parading the suspects, Edo State Commander, Mr. Buba Wakawa who identified the fake policemen as one Matthew Onumba and Ojukwu Henry, described them as members of a drug syndicate specialised in smuggling cannabis from the South to North-West region of the country.

According to the NDLEA Boss, the bus had reportedly taken off from Uzebba, in the Owan West Local Government Area of the State, en route to Kaduna State, when it was intercepted during a search operation by officers of the agency.

It was gathered that the arrested suspects, also attached a siren to the vehicle in a bid to evade security checks by the police.

“The black bus (Toyota), with tainted glass, had a siren and police stickers both at the front and rear to deceive unsuspecting members of the public as well as security personnel. It has all the paraphenalia of an official police vehicle but all is a ruse.

“So much has been invested into this operation and I am glad that our efforts have been rewarded,” he said.
