Princess Fingerlick Adeyinka, the mother of the popular Instagram skit makers, Twinzlove has opened up about how her husband abandoned her some years ago after she refused to dump her twin daughters. In an exclusive interview with Punch Newspaper, Princess narrated that she has done every work in this world to make sure that she caters for the need of her twin daughters.

According to her, just one month after she gave birth to them, her husband advised her to take them to an orphanage because he couldn't cater for them. Though she was reluctant at that time, she followed him to an orphanage in Akure but the management said they won't accept the babies since their parents are alive.

On their way back home, the husband gave her an option to either drop the babies in an uncompleted building or she would not see him again. She followed his instruction and dumped them, but after walking for a few kilometres, she returned to the building and picked them up. At that time, her husband already entered a taxi and drove off.

Princess narrated that she wanted to ask for help from her family members but nobody was willing to help her at that time. In the end, she decided to engage in menial jobs to cater for the needs of her two daughters.

Florida Institute of Technology student, Alfa Ekele, has been identified as the person killed at the Orlando Executive Airport after wind gusts of 60 mph, flipped a twin-engine plane he was on, earlier this month.



The U.S. Aviation Administration confirmed Ekele and one person were inside the twin-engine Diamond DA42 Twin Star when it flipped over at about 5 p.m. The airport spokesperson said the plane was holding for takeoff on a taxiway while the weather was unfavourable when the accident happened.



The deceased was studying for a master's degree in administration of applied aviation safety at the university’s College of Aeronautics. The incident was not related to Ekele's work at the school in Melbourne, university officials confirmed.

PUNCH Metro gathered that Ayinla, a father of two, alongside other fleeing suspects, stormed the Ladipo Market, Amukoko, and robbed business owners of their property.

The operation was said to be ongoing when Ayinla and his gang members allegedly shot one of the security men guarding the market.

It was learnt that the nearest police station was alerted and policemen detailed to the crime scene, engaged the armed robbers, and arrested Ayinla during the operation on August 26, 2022.

Other members of the gang were said to have escaped as the state police command launched a manhunt for their arrest

However, following Ayinla’s arrest, he was detained at the Amukoko Division as an investigation into the robbery case was ongoing.

In a bid to ascertain the steps taken by the market association regarding the incident, our correspondents visited the leader of the Ladipo Pako Market, Tajudeen Aiyelabowo, but he and his executives declined to comment.

Aiyelabowo, however, directed our correspondents to the police station and said nothing was stolen from the market.

However, two days after Ayinla’s arrest, our correspondents gathered that the father of two, who was detained in a police cell at Amukoko Division, started behaving strangely.

As his health condition worsened, it was learned that policemen brought him out of the cell and rushed him to the Success Hospital, Pako bus stop, Amukoko, where he died.

When our correspondents visited the Amukoko Police Station regarding the events that led to Ayinla’s death, policemen including one Supol Sunday Ogedengbe said there was no such case.

But during a visit to the hospital where Ayinla was rushed for treatment, a doctor, Olamilekan Akingbola, said he died shortly after he was brought to the hospital.

Akingbola said Ayinla’s medical history could not be ascertained, adding that he learnt that the deceased was caught during a robbery operation.

He said, “I learnt that there was a robbery operation and the deceased who was caught and handed over to the police. There is a gunshot victim of the robbery that has been coming for treatment here, he was shot in the leg and I removed 28 pallets from his leg.”

While in the hospital, our correspondents met the gunshot victim, Taofiq Bolaji, 41, who alleged that Ayinla and his gang members allegedly shot him during the operation.

He said, “I was shot in my left leg despite hiding on top of a roof beside Fidelity Bank when the armed robbers came to rob Ladipo Market. I don’t know how they sighted me on top of the roof and shot me.

“I have been coming to the hospital every day to treat the gunshot I sustained during the incident. I don’t know when the wound will heal.

“The market association contributed to paying my hospital bills. Fortunately, the bullet didn’t affect any of my bones.”

Contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the incident in a text message, said Ayinla fell ill and was taken to the hospital where he died.

He said, “I just got confirmation of the incident. He fell ill and was taken to the hospital. He died at the hospital.”

The Department of State Services has accused Tukur Mamu of aiding and abetting acts of terrorism.

Mamu was accused of being involved in the funding of international and local terrorism, sharing vital information with terrorist groups, resulting in the escalation of bandit attacks and terrorism in the country.

This allegation was made in support of an ex-parte motion marked FHC/ABJ/CS/1617/2022 and filed before Justice Nkeonye Maha of the federal high court in Abuja.

It read;

“Preliminary investigation so far established, amongst others, the offences of the logistic supplier, aiding and abetting acts of terrorism as well as terrorism financing against him.

“That the defendant (Mamu) has used the cover of his profession as a journalist to aid both local and international terrorist groups. That the action of the defendant has orchestrated the untimely death of several security personnel in North Central and North East parts of Nigeria.

“That the defendant has discreetly given several information to bandits and terrorists that escalated various acts of terrorism in Nigeria. That the investigation has assumed a wider dimension and sophistication requiring time and advance expertise to conclude.

“That some of the suspects working with the defendant are at large and premature release of the defendant will jeopardise the ongoing investigation. That it is in the interest of justice and national security to grant this application.

“That the activities of the defendant and his associates at large constitute a potent threat to the unity and peaceful co-existence of Nigeria.”

News earlier reported that the Judge granted DSS’ request to detain Mamu for 60 more days to conclude its investigation.

JAMB asks for total financial autonomy

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board have requested total financial autonomy and the removal of all national budgetary allocations.

JAMB registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede made the call while appearing before the House of Representatives Committee on Finance on the Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) on Wednesday, September 14.

Oloyede, who disclosed that one condition was for the body to review upward examination fees, informed the legislators that the registration fee was reduced from N5,000 to N3,500 after it had remitted N7.5 billion.

The JAMB registrar, who requested the federal government allow it to revert to N5,000 and become autonomous, also revealed that exam fees are as low in Finland as they are in Nigeria.

He also stressed that no country funds such entry examinations body fully. Oloyede said;

“There is nowhere that government funds this type of examination. They actually provide some support for the institution because students pay some token as registration fees and from it, they bear the responsibility of salaries and provide some succors.

“We are comfortable to be taken off the budget but there are conditions. One of the conditions, for example, was when students registered in 2016, we collected N5,000 and that had been on for 5 years before I joined.

“When we came in, we remitted N7.5 billion. We felt it was too much and approached the federal government to reduce the fees. We have not added a Kobo since.

“I believe we should revert to the N5000 we were charging. Given the inflation, if we charge N10,000– I am just giving it as an example, nobody will ask the federal government for one kobo.

“I am not aware of anywhere in the world, except maybe Finland— that charges as low as JAMB is charging. In Finland, we know that everything is free”.

Ado Ekiti Division of the Ekiti State High Court has sentenced Ojo Idowu (30 years old) to life imprisonment for raping a nine-year-old girl.

The defendant was first arraigned on one charge bordering on rape before Justice Olalekan Olatawura in March 2022.

The charge read; "That the defendant on October 8, 2021, at Ilogbo Ekiti in Ido/Osi Local Government Area of Ekiti State did rape a nine-year-old girl, contrary to Section 31(2) of the Child’s Rights Law, Cap. C7, Laws of Ekiti State, 2012."

In her testimony before the court, the victim, a primary three pupil, said when she went to fetch water and on her way back, Idowu asked her to follow him to his house to get something for her grandmother.

“I was fetching water to our kitchen when Oga Idowu asked me to come and get something for my grandmother, who I live with," the minor narrated.

"I stood by the door, he asked me to enter, but I refused, he forced me to his room and covered my mouth with his hand, he used the other hand to remove his trouser and started forcing his manhood into my private part, I shouted, but nobody could hear me because he covered my mouth.

"I wept because I was in pain and he warned me not to tell anybody. When I got home, I did not tell my grandmother, but on the second day, when I could not walk properly, my grandmother asked what happened to me, I told her what Oga Idowu did for me,"

The grandmother said that she discovered the girl could not walk properly following which she persuaded her to explain why she could not walk properly nor sit well.

The prosecutor, Julius Ajibare, called five witnesses and tendered the defendant’s statement and medical report as exhibits.

The defendant, however, spoke in his own defense through his counsel and called two witnesses.

In his judgment, Justice Olalekan Olatawura said, ‘‘Identification of the defendant by the victim as the person who raped her is not only compelling but credible, same not having been discredited under cross-examination and therefore not mistaken.”

"In all, I have established and proved beyond reasonable doubt by the prosecution that the defendant and no other person used his manhood to penetrate the private part of the victim.

"Consequently thereupon, the defendant is found guilty as charged. He is hereby sentenced to life imprisonment,” the judge pronounced.

A public notice posted by the Ekito State Ministry of Justice on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, said the convicted rapist has been put in its s*x offenders' register.
