You don't need to be perfect - Funke Akinydele reacted. by commyel40(f) : 12:03 am On Sep 12, 2022

Nollywood actress and ROK TV boss, Mary Remmy Njoku has gotten many reacting on social media as she shares advice for young couples.

The beautiful mother of three shared a lovely photo of herself and her husband on her verified Instagram page, accompanied by a message for young couples.

Mary Njoku noted that one does not need to be perfect to inspire others, stating you can inspire others by how you deal with your imperfections.

She wrote: “You don’t need to be perfect to inspire people, you can inspire others by how you deal with your Imperfections.
That way, you don’t lose yourself.”

Nollywood artistes like Funke Akindele, Warri Pikin, Ayo Adesanya, Rachael Okonkwo, Mike Ezunroye, Patience Ozokwo, Moyo Lawal, Yvonne Jegede, Mary Lazarus, Queen Nwokoye, and others confirmed Mary Njoku’s piece of advice.

News recalls Mary Njoku indirectly tackled Nigerian men on how they care for their wives.

Mary Njoku took to Instagram and shared a collage of a lady with a description of her look when she was unmarried and a wife.

Mary Njoku opined that the condition of any man’s wife shows his kind of personality to the world.

According to Mary Njoku, one’s daughter cannot be a princess if the mother is not a queen, so they advised men to look at their wives and ask themselves what kind of men they are.

In her words: “Dear MEN. The condition of your wife shows the world the kind of man you are. Your daughter cannot be your princess if her mother is not a queen. So take a deep look at your wife and ask yourself, what kind of man are you?”

News also recalls that Mary Njoku slammed young ladies who rely solely on a man’s wealth following the post of a man who shared the photo of a girl he took on a trip after she refused him s*x.

The angered man took the lady on a trip to Dubai for a week but ended up cutting the vacation short because she refused to give in, even though the lady was aware the lovemaking thing would happen.

In reaction to the post shared, the actress expressed disappointment at the lady who had made a wrong choice and depended on a man for money or luxury items. Adding that hunger has made some girls settle for less in society.

According to her, women are not s*x toys meant to be used and dumped just for money as she slammed the man who had taken the lady’s pictures and shared them online because she denied him s333x.

Speaking further, she said ladies should try as much as possible to hustle for themselves to avoid being forced to do things they don’t want to do.

Tension as gunshot Rick Onitsha road. by commyel40(f) : 12:30 am On Sep 12, 2022

There is serious tension around the Obosi end of the Second Niger Bridge, Onitsha, Anambra State over persistent gunshots along the road leading to the bridge.

The shoot-outs which began at about 9:30am on Sunday were between some men in military attire and a group of boys, suspected to be criminals.

The hoodlums invaded the road, linking the yet-to-be commissioned Second Niger Bridge on two motorcycles and one tricycle, where they engaged the men on military uniform, who also came with a Hilux van, in gun battle.

Nigerian student shot dead by his neighbour over loud music in the US by commyel40(f) : 12:37 am On Sep 12, 2022

Nigerian student was shot and killed by his neighbor after they reportedly got into an argument over loud music.

18-year-old Oluwafemi Oyerinde, a freshman at the Kennesaw State University in Georgia was shot and killed outside his Stadium Village apartment shortly after 11:30 a.m. Sunday, October 6. He was studying mechanical engineering and had dreams of joining the military.

Oyerinde's father Wole told Channel 2's Christian Jennings they believe that the shooting stemmed from an argument over loud music.

The Cobb County Police Department have issued an arrest warrant for the man accused of killing Oluwafemi Oyerinde at the Stadium Village apartment complex.

The CCPD is charging Kashman Rael Thomas with murder and two counts each of aggravated assault. Thomas is accused of killing 18-year-old Oyerinde. Two other people were also shot and wounded that day, 18-year-old Khalil Bennett and 18-year-old Jarius Bonner.

Investigators later discovered 159 grams of what they suspected to be marijuana in Thomas’ room after a search was conducted. Thomas was also charged with possessing over an ounce of marijuana, according to the AJC.

KSU spokeswoman Tammy Demel also confirmed in a statement that Oyerinda was a KSU student.

“It is with profound sadness that the University confirms the deceased victim, 18-year-old Oluwafemi Oyerinde, was an enrolled student at Kennesaw State University,” Demel said.

On Monday, October 14, a student-led candlelight vigil was held for Oyerinde at the Legacy Gazebo on the Kennesaw campus.

Bayelsa environmental Boss is Dead. by commyel40(f) : 12:46 am On Sep 12, 2022

The chairman of the Bayelsa State Environmental Sanitation Authority, Mr Tolu Amatu, is dead.

Amatu was said to have collapsed on Saturday night in his residence at the Baybrdge Road in the Kpansia area of Yenagoa, the state capital, and was rushed to a clinic where he was confirmed dead.

He was a former chairman of the Ekeremor Local Government Area during the immediate past administration of Governor Seriake Dickson.

Amatu was also an aspirant for the Sagbama/Ekeremor Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party for the forthcoming 2023 general election.

The late environmental sanitation authority boss was among other politicians who resigned their appointments to contest the ruling PDP’s primaries and were later restored by the state Governor, Douye Diri, following their defeats.

A close family source said he complained of pains in his legs on Friday and took some medication at home.

Amatu, the source added, also complained of waist pain, stomach ache and constipation on Saturday, and later left the house to pay his hotel’s workers’ salaries.

He, however, collapsed in his residence and was taken to a clinic along the Saptex Road in Yenizue-Epie suburb of the state capital where he was confirmed dead later in the night.

The source said, “He complained of leg pains and took medication. Then yesterday (Saturday), he said he had waist pains and that he had not gone to toilet. He was told to take oranges and others, which he did.

“He was then told to rest, but later he went to the hotel to pay his staff around 5pm. When he returned (home), he went upstairs and collapsed. Sadly, he died before getting to the clinic where he was rushed to. His death came as a shock.”

Amatu’s corpse is said to be deposited at the Federal Medical Centre mortuary.

The state government was yet to issue a statement on the passing away of the state environmental sanitation authority chairman as of the time of filing this report.

Nigeria to phase out the use of kerosene for cooking in 2030. by commyel40(f) : 3:04 am On Sep 15, 2022

President Muhammadu Buhari has announced the federal government’s plan to jettison kerosene consumption by 2030 when gas supply would have been total.

Buhari made the pronouncement in Abuja at the opening ceremony of the 15th Annual Banking and Finance Conference organised by the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN).

Represented by the Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning Mrs Zainab Ahmed, President Buhari emphasised that long-term greenhouse emissions have resulted in hotter temperatures, more severe rainstorms, increased drought and food security issues.

“To tackle this issue, the government has set plans in motion to significantly reduce greenhouse emissions from Nigeria. More specifically, by 2030, we aim to eliminate kerosene lighting as well as short-lived pollutants in the oil and gas sector,” he said.

On the raging inflation across the globe, he attributed the scary inflation figures across the world to fast-rising consumer demand in a world that was yet to fully recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, and is now facing the Russia-Ukraine war.

Despite IPOB threats, Bihari said Imo gave Him good hospitality.. by commyel40(f) : 3:14 am On Sep 15, 2022

President Muhammadu Buhari has said he received warm hospitality from the people of Imo State when he paid the state a visit on Tuesday, despite a threat by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) against such.

Buhari was in the state to inaugurate some projects on the invitation of Governor Hope Uzodinma.

His words were contained in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina.

“I am delighted to be back in Imo State – the Eastern Heartland – to commission a number of projects executed by the administration of His Excellency, Governor Hope Uzodimma.

“I am happy to note that within just three years of the administration of Governor Uzodimma, I have made two official visits to Imo State to commission projects in the state.

“On each occasion, I have received a very warm hospitality of Imo people, for which I am always appreciative. Ndi Imo, Ndewo!

“As it is often said in local Igbo parlance, a good road deserves a second passage. It is a pleasant coincidence that the name of your governor, “Uzodimma” is derived from this same idiom. Little wonder, therefore, that he has made the provision of good roads one of his top priorities,” Buhari said.

The President said his administration recognizes the importance of critical infrastructure in economic development and was determined to drive the economic development of Nigeria through the provision of vital infrastructure across the length and breadth of the country.

“This can be seen in our commitment to certain critical projects such as Deep Sea Ports, new airport terminals and buildings, various railway projects, a network of gas and power infrastructure, roads and bridges including the Second Niger Bridge, telecommunications infrastructure to mention but a few.

“I am therefore happy to see that the APC administration of Governor Uzodimma is doing similar improvement here in Imo State.

“I commend the Governor for being able to do so with the limited resources at the disposal of the State Government. This proves that when leaders are dedicated and focused, much can be achieved for our people, “ he added.
