The Force Public Relations Officer, Jimoh Moshood, said that an offender may be prosecuted and imprisoned for attempted arson.

He disclosed that police officers have the ability to arrest anyone found making telephone calls or smoking in filling stations.

He explained the filling station as a public center where drivers can't behave as they like due to the inflammable products such as gas and other oil products being doled out there.

Moshood, consequently, cautioned the public against breaking up the safety principles prohibiting smoking and telephone calls at filling stations.

According to him:

“Making phone calls or smoking at filling stations is a criminal offence and the police, of course, could arrest anyone violating the safety rules put in place to safeguard life and property at the filling stations.”
