63 people in three communities in Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State have been abducted by bandits.

It was discovered that 41 persons were abducted from Durmin, 14 from Jarmiya and eight from Pandogari.

According to the Nation, a Pandogari community source revealed that eight of the 14 people taken in Jarmiya by terrorists were freed after they demanded N6 million and two motorbikes as ransom.

According to the source, terrorists demanded N200,000 for recharge cards in order to release the six remaining people.

At Durmin, the terrorists collected N8 million from the families of eight captives while 33 others are said to still be in captivity.

You will recall that Durmin residents had paid N20 million levy to bandits during the rainy seasons to allow them to plant, only for the gunmen to return to the village last Thursday and abducted 41 people.
