Three siblings died in a fire outbreak at Kabuga Yan Azara in Gwale Local Government Area, Kano State.

Six-year-old Saddiqa Salisu, Abdulsamad (15, and Fatima Itsiyaku were identified as the victims.

Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi (spokesman for Kano State Fire Service), confirmed the incident in an official statement issued on Tuesday, November 22. He stated that the fire which engulfed a storey building took place on Monday, November 21st, 2022.

“We received an emergency call from Marwa Umar at about 10:40 p.m. that there was a fire outbreak at Kabuga and immediately sent a rescue team to the scene at about 10:50 pm to prevent the fire from spreading to other houses. Our men evacuated three unconscious bodies which were later confirmed dead,"

Abdullahi added that the service had already initiated an investigation into the cause of the fire.

He charged the public to use fire and electric appliances with caution, and report any case of drowning, fire incident, or road accident among others to the nearest fire service office.
