Ex-Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo left his seat and placed Presidential aspirant Peter Obi on it in a move considered symbolic by supporters of Obi.

Both statesmen attended an event recently. Obasanjo made a brief speech, then elevated Peter Obi by placing him on his chair. The moment was captured on video.

The video starts as Obasanjo is finishing up his speech, saying, "... the president of Nigeria..." while looking in Peter Obi's direction.

Obasanjo says to another guest who was seen walking towards the LP Presidential candidate that he should "leave him o. Leave him," eliciting laughter from other guests.

Obasanjo then walks to Peter, and the former Anambra State Governor gets up from his chair and shakes hands with the former president.

Obasanjo still holding Obi's hand, leads him to his own seat.

After placing Peter Obi in his seat, Obasanjo then walks away, saying: "Ehen, my job is done."

Obasanjo leaves the venue immediately.
