According to the information acquired, two siblings, Olufemi and Oluwafifunmi Olaitan were discovered dead within a non-functioning fridge in their home located at Eyin Ala, Akure at Ondo State funding.

Olufemitan 9 and Oluwafifunmi Olaitan, seven, were found dead when they were suffocated within the disused refrigerator within their home in the outskirt of the state capital.

It was reported that the incident has thrown the people of their community into mourning just as people could not ascertain whether it had been a murder or death by injury.

The mother of the deceased, Mrs. Olubunmi Olaitan went out and left both primary school pupils in the house playing.

However, the two male children according to the report were inside the refrigerator dead until she returned home from where she went.

The incident was still a mystery to a lot of individuals on the way the deceased got into the refrigerator and locked themselves inside until they had been suffocated and gave up the ghost.

A source in the area suspected the deceased was killed by some unidentified persons who later dumped their lifeless bodies inside the refrigerator to give the impression that they were suffocated.

Another source said the two kids might be playing inside the generator and got locked inside when their mother was not at home,

The state Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mr. Femi Joseph confirmed the incident, describing it as sad and unfortunate. He explained that there was no trace that the boys were killed, adding that the command did not make any arrest on the matter.

“We did not suspect any foul play because it appeared as if the kids were playing inside the refrigerator and the refrigerator locked up when there was nobody at home to open the door for them”.
