In accordance with the information gathered, the Police command in Ogun state stated it has apprehended a suspected cultist, Daniel Bartholomew said to be on the wanted list of law enforcement.

The 19-year-old Daniel Bartholomew had been terrorising residents of Agbara and its environs for quite some time now.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, stated Batholomew had been on the wanted list of this command over the role he played in string of cult clashes in areas like Agbara, Lusada and Igbesa.

He said the suspect was arrested alongside Crawford University, Igbesa, by a team of policemen led by Ajoba Lamidi, an Assistant Superintendent of Police during a stop and search dutiy in the region.

Oyeyemi said the suspect, who had been on a bike, quickly made a U-turn but was chased and apprehended.

Recovered from him, he added, were one locally- made pistol and one expended cartridge.

Oyeyemi said, “The suspect has made a confessional statement that he is a leading member of the dreaded Eye confraternity.”
