Based on report gathered, the suspects, identified as Bello Mallam and Shehu Buda were detained in Talba Estate, Bida and they disclosed they went to robbery due to the hardship of the nation as well as the inability of the authorities to offer jobs.

Mallam, both 18 and Shehu, 20, were trailed and apprehended after robbing one Mohammed Mohammed of N7,400 and 2 handsets appreciated at N9,000 after inflicting injury on him with a machete and boards for preventing them from raping his daughter

Buda revealed he committed the offense on account of the economic downturn in the nation.

“Many people are stealing in the country, including top government officials. People are dying of hunger and there is no job.”

What else do you expect me to do other than stealing? If am discharged by the police, I will still go back to rob people. The country is in a bad situation,” he said
