A 20-year-old Nigerian lady, (name withheld) who was assured of getting a job in Lagos ended up being r*ped instead.

It was gathered that the defendant, 35-year older Babatunde Orekoya has been detained for having unlawful carnal knowledge of the victim.

The ugly incident occurred at Awoyokun Street in Ilupeju area of Lagos in which Orekoya resided.

It was gathered that the victim fell to the defendant's snare when she approached him and explained her condition and requested him to help get a job for her and Orekoya promised to do so.

The very day the incident happened, it had been scooped that the defendant had called and advised her that he'd gotten a job for her with good salary.

Then he requested her to return to his house to ensure that from there he takes her into the location for the routine interview and she'll secure the work immediately.

It was gathered that when the victim got to his house, he locked the door from inside, loaded the music system so that the neighbours will not hear her shouting during the act.

Based on the victim, He forcefully tore my pant, over powered me and penetrated before he allowed me to go. She went home and told her parents what happened.

The issue was reported to the authorities at Ilupeju Division and the defendant was arrested and detained at the police station.

He was charged prior to Ogba Magistrates court for the alleged offence.

The court adjourned the matter till 12 February, 2018 until his bail condition will be ruled.
