A Nigerian army officer, only identified as Sunday, supposedly murdered a man over N500 bribe at a military checkpoint at Edo state.

The tragic incident happened when the late Shafi'u Garba, called Ganda, was traveling in a vehicle from Wudil, Kano State, to Edo State before meeting soldiers in a military checkpoint involving Auchi and Benin Road.

A witness called Sani Abdullahi, who had been at an automobile together with the deceased, stated that the soldier shot at Garba, as he died a few hours later.
