Kansas City Chiefs' wide receiver Rashee Rice has expressed remorse for his involvement in a hit-and-run incident that occurred on Saturday, resulting in injuries to two individuals.

In a statement shared on his Instagram account on Wednesday, Rice took full responsibility for his actions and pledged to cooperate fully with the authorities.

The incident, which took place in Dallas, Texas, involved two speeding vehicles—a Lamborghini and a Corvette—that triggered a chain reaction collision, damaging four additional cars.

According to reports from the Dallas Police Department, the occupants of the Lamborghini and Corvette fled the scene without offering assistance or providing their information.

Rashee Rice, 23, met with Dallas investigators earlier in the day and conveyed his sincere apologies to those affected by the accident. His attorney, Royce West, reiterated Rice's commitment to cooperating with law enforcement and addressing the situation responsibly.

The Dallas Morning News reported that the Corvette involved in the crash was registered or leased to Rice, although this information has not been officially confirmed.

Dashcam footage captured by another motorist appears to depict the moment of impact, showing the two speeding vehicles losing control and colliding with multiple cars on the highway.

However, the Dallas police have not confirmed whether Rice was among those involved, citing the ongoing investigation.

During a radio interview with local station KCMO on Monday, Kansas City Chiefs president Mark Donovan emphasized the importance of waiting for all the facts to emerge before making any judgments regarding the incident.

"We'll get to the bottom of it, we'll gather the facts and we'll react accordingly," he added.

Two drivers were treated at the scene for minor injuries and two motorists in another vehicle were taken to a local hospital.

"No one stopped," Kayla Quinn, who said her car was damaged in the crash, told the Dallas Morning News.

Marc Lenahan, a personal injury attorney who represents a victim of the crash, told the BBC his firm's research links the Corvette to Rashee Rice and the Lamborghini to a local luxury car rental service.

Mr Rice, who is from the Dallas area, was drafted to the NFL last year and played in the Chiefs' second consecutive Super Bowl victory in February.
