The songstress disclosed that her infrequent award wins in Nigeria can be attributed to her refusal to acquiesce to organizers' demands for sexual favors.

In an interview with WithinNigeria, the 'Johnny' singer candidly revealed that numerous entertainment figures had previously propositioned her for sex, promising enhanced opportunities in return.

She asserted her steadfastness in declining such offers, emphasizing that she maintains her dignity and a loyal fan base.

Alade expressed her lack of remorse in rejecting these advances, asserting, "There was a time in the industry when everyone wanted to sleep with me, and it was like, 'Yemi if you don’t do this, you won’t have that.' Today, men are the reason I don’t win awards in Nigeria."
