Snoop Dogg and Master P, renowned American rap artists, have initiated legal action against retail behemoth Walmart and a food manufacturing company for undermining their cereal brand.

The lawsuit, filed recently, alleges that Walmart and Post Consumer Brands deliberately concealed boxes of Snoop Cereal and falsely claimed it was unavailable. Attorney Benjamin Crump characterized this as a "clear disregard" for a black-owned enterprise.

Both Walmart and Post cited poor sales as contributing factors. Walmart emphasized its track record of supporting entrepreneurs and acknowledged various factors influencing product sales. Post expressed disappointment over consumer demand falling short of expectations.

Snoop Dogg and Master P established Broadus Foods, their own food enterprise, in 2022, which produces breakfast cereals, pancake mix, maple syrup, and more.

According to reports, Post allegedly attempted to stifle Broadus Foods' market presence after the rappers declined to sell their company to the manufacturer. However, they did agree to a partnership where Post would handle production and distribution to major retailers.

Attorney Crump posted a video online, highlighting the alleged practices of keeping the cereal hidden away in storerooms instead of on store shelves.

The lawsuit contends that Walmart and Post Consumer Brands conspired to prevent Snoop Cereal from reaching consumers or imposed excessive costs on Broadus Foods, undermining any potential profit.

Master P shared a video on his Instagram, purportedly showing several Walmart stores not stocking the product, with employees initially claiming it was out of stock until unopened shipments were found in the storeroom.

In its statement, Post Consumer Brands also said that it had been "excited to partner with Broadus Foods" and said it made "substantial investments" in the business.

Walmart said it would "respond as appropriate with the court" once it had seen the full complaint.
