Sheryl Sandberg, the former Chief Executive Officer of Meta board, will not run for office again on the board of directors when her tenure expires in May.

In the fall of 2022, Sandburg, who had served on the Meta board for 12 years and as Chief Operating Officer for more than 14 years, announced her resignation.

She will remain an advisor to Meta but step down from the board to concentrate more on her charitable endeavours.

Through her non-profit organisation, Lean In, Sandberg works to empower women in the workplace and corporate culture to reach their full potential.

Prior to joining Facebook in 2008, Sandberg was well known in the Information Technology world from her time in prominent positions at the World Bank and the Treasury Department under President Bill Clinton.

Sandberg assisted Mark Zuckerberg in boosting Facebook earnings from $150 million in 2007 to more than $3.7 billion in 2011.

She became well-known for being among the most powerful women in Technology.

Meta board reported $116.6 billion in total revenue in 2022, and since its 2022 Initial Public Offer, its price had increased by more 800%.

Among the company’s top executive was Sheryl Sandberg, who came under increasing scrutiny for his role in subverting democracy and aiding and abetting genocide.

Additionally, she was a part of the team that oversaw the company significant rebranding in 2021 from Facebook to Meta, which alarmed investors and resulted in significant layoffs last year.
