Nigerian Afrobeats artist Yemi Alade responded to a fan who was drawing comparisons between her and fellow music sensation Tiwa Savage, asserting that she is superior to her colleague.

It's noteworthy that Yemi Alade and Tiwa Savage are recognized as two of Nigeria's most prominent female music stars. Despite their successes, there has been ongoing speculation about a rivalry, particularly among their fan bases.

Addressing this perception, Yemi Alade seemingly dispelled any notion of animosity when she advised an enthusiastic fan on platform X (formerly Twitter) against making negative remarks about her Nigerian counterpart.

The incident unfolded when the self-proclaimed Mama Africa, slated to perform at the opening ceremony of the 2023 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Côte d'Ivoire, shared a video clip with the caption, "Africa, our time is NOW!!"

In response, a fan with the username @ThatNigerianlad commented on the post with a derogatory statement aimed at Tiwa Savage, stating, "You're better than Tiwa."

Yemi Alade swiftly quashed the X user’s comment, asserting, “Comparison is the thief of Joy. We’re both winning…. celebrate and support us all.”
