Renowned Nollywood actress, Mercy Johnson, has expressed bewilderment at the unexpected surge in egg prices. In light of Nigeria's ongoing struggle with inflation, the cost of essential commodities has notably risen.

However, Mercy Johnson was particularly surprised by the considerable escalation in both egg prices, which was attributed to the fluctuating exchange rates.

She raised inquiries about the origin of the eggs, pondering whether they were imported or if the hens responsible for laying them were of foreign descent.

In her perspective, the absurdity of the price hike stems from the lack of a direct correlation between egg prices and the value of the dollar.
