Afrobeat sensation Burna Boy, known as Damini Ogulu, has disclosed the surprising reason behind his rejection of a $5 million offer in Dubai.

The Grammy-winning artist declined the lucrative proposal to perform in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) due to the stringent anti-smoking regulations in the country.

Burna Boy pointed out that the Emirati law prohibits smoking in various public spaces, such as parks, beaches, and recreational areas throughout Dubai.

He expressed his unwillingness to go to any location where he would face restrictions on his ability to smoke. His statement has generated a range of responses, with some individuals defending the artist's decision.

The singer who had openly admitted his addiction to smoking, as well as condemned the act and vowed to stop, has gone back to his old habit as he stated that it isn’t easy to leave it.
