Afrobeat artist, Davido, proudly shared that one of Nigeria's former presidents enjoyed his music. In a previous report, Davido discussed the obstacles he encountered from his father, who used his influence to impede his music career.

He mentioned that his father went to great lengths to prevent him from performing at shows and instilled fear in event organizers.

However, the situation has changed, and now his father is his biggest supporter. This is because the former president not only appreciates Davido's music but also used one of his songs as a ringtone when it reached the number-one spot on the charts.

“So at that time, I had a song that was like, it was like top 20 on the charts in Africa.

But then the next song I made went number one. Like the president of my country was rocking with it. The song was his ringtone”.

Months back, Davido’s cousin, B-Red had narrated how he sold 20TVs from the singer’s father’s house to raise money.

He narrated how Don Jazzy had offered to help him and Davido with a condition, which led them to sell out Davido’s father’s Televisions in a desperate attempt to raise money.

Though admitting that he regrets his action, he is, however happy that he did it.

Last year, Davido had penned a heartfelt note to his father, recounting his impact on his life.

He credited him for teaching him humility, hard work, and life principles, attesting that his father was the one who taught him that wealth shouldn’t change one’s personality.
