Ahmedu Obiabo, known by his stage name Blackface, has recently discussed his ongoing conflict with his former bandmate, Innocent Idibia, who is famously known as 2Face.

From allegations of copyright infringement to claims of negatively impacting his music career, Blackface has been candid in expressing his sentiments regarding 2Face.

Blackface, a member of the now-disbanded music group Plantashun Boiz, recounted the group's inception in a recent explosive interview on The Honest Bunch podcast.

He reminisced about how they established the band in his father's backyard in Otukpo, Benue State. Following the formation of this two-man band, Blackface and Tubaba, who was then known as 2Face, secured various performance opportunities and toured several cities in the northern regions of Nigeria.

However, he had to return to school at the Institute of Management Technology, Enugu.

“I said, let me finish my school first, and then I’ll continue my music. And then, when I went to IMT, Tuface came to meet me in IMT, and he was like the music was still in his head, and he didn’t know how to go about it.

“I am that guy to straight-line anything you want to do, if it’s music, especially. And I said the number one thing you have to do is stop jumping from group to group. I’m preparing to go to Lagos, but I could take you with me. And that was how I brought Tuface with me from Enugu to Lagos,” he said.

When they arrived in Lagos, the ‘Hard Life’ singer revealed they stayed in Obalende with his brother, Sam Ahmedu, before going to FESTAC.

He claimed that during that time, they met concert promoter Nelson Brown, got into the Rothman’s rhythm, went on tours, met the remedies, and did everything else.

Tuface allegedly took up to six months before agreeing to let Faze join the group.
