There is growing concern that over 600 Israelis have lost their lives, with thousands more left wounded in the wake of an unprecedented assault carried out by Hamas militants.

According to Israeli media, the Saturday attack resulted in a death toll of at least 600 people, along with 2,000 individuals sustaining injuries. Additionally, Hamas fighters have taken an undisclosed number of civilians and soldiers as captives within Gaza.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have shared footage of a missile strike that they claim targeted a compound belonging to Hamas' head of military intelligence. The IDF also reported targeting two banks associated with the terrorist organization and sites involved in the production of aerial weapons in Gaza.

The Times of Israel quoted an official who stated, "At this hour, there are ongoing operations in [Kibbutz] Kfar Aza, as well as searches in numerous other towns. IDF forces are present in all towns, leaving no town without a military presence."

In a briefing held this morning, the same official further declared, "Hamas' brutal attack constitutes a war crime. The act of taking women and children hostage violates international law and contradicts the principles of Islam. Those who participated in these actions will face consequences.

The path ahead is difficult, and we anticipate challenging days. However, the IDF remains resilient and will utilize its full strength and capabilities."

Tzipi Hotovely, the Israeli ambassador to the United Kingdom, attributed the support for Hamas to Iran in advance of Saturday's attack. In an interview on Sky News' Sunday Morning With Trevor Phillips, she asserted, "Iran is endorsing and reinforcing Hamas, thereby destabilizing the entire region through its proxies.

We are committed to an extended period of conflict in order to protect our people and ensure that no one finds a motive to perpetrate such acts again."

Israel's military has confirmed that at least 26 of its soldiers lost their lives in the attack by the Hamas militant group in the southern part of the country.

Meanwhile, the country's health ministry has reported that retaliatory Israeli military actions have resulted in the deaths of at least 313 Palestinians and injuries to nearly 2,000 individuals since the previous day.

Among those casualties is Nathanel Young, a British national from London, who was serving in the 13th Battalion of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) when he lost his life in the recent events. According to the IDF, he was killed yesterday.

In a statement posted on social media, his family said: 'We're heartbroken to share that our little brother Nathanel Young was tragically killed on the Gaza Border yesterday.'

He is the first confirmed British casualty of the worst violence in the region for decades after Palestinian militants launched cross-border raids early on Saturday morning.
