Comedian Bright Okpocha, also known as Basketmouth, has issued an apology to his fellow comedian AY Makun, regarding the long-standing feud between them.

In March 2023, AY Makun spoke during an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, revealing that a sum of N30,000 had been the source of their ongoing discord. He explained that he had received an opportunity to stand in for Basketmouth at one of their gigs, and at the time, the amount offered, N30,000, held significant importance in his life. This sum was sufficient to cover his essential expenses, such as purchasing a pack of noodles, recharging his phone, buying fuel for his car and generator, and even paying for the creation of a few comedy skits to release. However, upon arriving at the event, the attendees had expected to see Basketmouth instead of AY.

Long story short, the guy was later happy with my performance and there was an exchange of numbers and I left. This gig came through one of Basketmouth’s guys. Two weeks running, I had not seen N30,000 and I was starving, as a bachelor, I had nothing. So, I decided to ask for N30,000 and he said the person had not paid.”

However, in a video shared via his social media accounts on Monday, Basketmouth apologized to AY and others in the entertainment industry for “whatever” he must have done wrong in the past.
