The sensational artist known as Stanley Omah Didia, commonly referred to as Omah Lay, recently opened up about the impact of fame on his mental health.

In his conversation with Adesope Olajide, Omah Lay openly discussed the challenges he confronted when he initially rose to stardom. The abrupt surge in his popularity had a detrimental effect on his mental state as he grappled with the expectations and demands that accompanied his newfound fame.

The pressure to sustain his success and consistently satisfy his fans became overwhelming, pushing him into a negative mental state. During this period, Omah Lay confessed that he was still in the process of finding his footing, and it took time for him to adapt to the reality of being a celebrity.

As time passed, Omah Lay recognized that he could no longer continue comparing himself to others or attempting to keep up with the fast-paced nature of the music industry. He came to the realization that moving at his own pace was crucial for his well-being and artistic development.

This realization brought about a significant shift in his mindset, allowing him to become more comfortable with himself and his journey.

Embracing his own pace not only brought him peace of mind but also helped him to truly enjoy his life and craft.

Omah Lay’s music serves as an outlet for him to express his real-life experiences and emotions.

In his words; “At first I struggled, and it put me in a bad mental state because I was still trying to learn my ways. However, with time, I got comfortable and learned that I should move at my own pace. As soon as I realized that, I became much stronger and began to enjoy my life more.

“If I can put my vulnerabilities in my song, then I can talk about them. My music is all about my real-life experiences, and I know the world is listening to it.”
