Sara Sharif: Father among three charged with murder of girl by atoluwash(m) : 1:59 pm On Sep 15, 2023 |
Surrey Police has announced that the father, stepmother, and uncle of Sara Sharif have been accused of the murder of the 10-year-old girl. The individuals facing charges are Urfan Sharif, aged 41, along with his partner Beinash Batool, aged 29, and Urfan's brother, Faisal Malik, aged 28, all residing on Hammond Road in Woking. Additionally, each of them has been charged with causing or permitting the death of a child. Sara's lifeless body was discovered at her residence on August 10th. A post-mortem examination revealed that she had sustained "multiple and extensive injuries." On August 9th, the three adults departed the UK for Pakistan. Subsequently, upon disembarking from a flight from Dubai, they were arrested at Gatwick Airport on a Wednesday evening. Surrey Police has now confirmed that charges have been filed, and the individuals are being held in custody. They are scheduled to appear at Guildford Magistrates' Court later on Friday. Sara's five siblings, aged between one and 13 years old, also traveled to Pakistan on 9 August with Mr. Sharif, Ms. Batool, and Mr. Malik. The children were found by police in Pakistan at the home of Mr. Sharif's father on Monday and have since been moved to a government childcare facility in the country. Surrey Police said Sara's mother, Olga Sharif, had been informed of the latest developments and was being supported by specialist officers. |
