In the Jigawa State’s Malammadori and Birniwa Local Government Areas, the Jigawa State Police Command has detained ten suspects who were in possession of weapons and ammunition.

The command’s spokesman, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, revealed this in a statement on Thursday, June 29, 2023. He said that the police had detained the suspects on June 27 and had found 65 pieces of fake currency in addition to 115 parcels of Indian hemp, five locally made pistols, two rifles, one magazine, and 29 rounds of ammunition.

The suspects will face charges in court for conspiracy and illegal possession of firearms, the PPRO added.

Auwalu Maidawa, age 66, Shehu Ali, age 52, Jaji Mohammad, age 31, Umar Huja, age 45, Mohammad Ali, age 30, Yakubu Ya’u, age 30, and Manzo Mohammad, age 50, were the names he gave for the other seven suspects.
