The pastor of the Assemblies of God Church, Chukwuemeka Orji, has been detained, according to the Abia State Police Command, for allegedly defiling a 13-year-old female domestic worker in the state’s Aba region.

Orji’s arrest was confirmed by the state police public relations officer, ASP Chinaka Maureen, who also stated that the case was still under investigation.

The victim reportedly suffered psychological trauma and had bruises left on her by the 60-year-old pastor who committed the crime.

It was discovered that Orji, who abducted the victim from her family on the condition that he would pay for her education, had allegedly known the child sexually since she was 12 years old.

The cleric allegedly threatened to stop funding the victim’s education and send her back to her family if she told anyone about the illegal activities in an effort to intimidate the victim.

The 13-year-old girl described her ordeal at the pastor’s hands, saying that after she started leaving with Orji, he repeatedly made advances toward her that she turned down.

She added that after the pastor allegedly forcedly had carnal knowledge of her sometime in 2022, things changed and it started to become a regular occurrence.

Family-friendly sources claim that on June 15, 2023, when Orji tried to get his way with the minor but found out she was menstruating, he was out of luck.

It was claimed that he had coerced her into having oral s*x with him.

One of the sources stated, “He sent her to cut grass at a farm within the church premises as a punishment for being on her period before she was allowed to go to school. He was unsatisfied with her performance.

“The victim, who could no longer tolerate the pastor’s behavior, informed her class teacher of him when she arrived at school. The teacher reported the incident to the school’s owner, who then informed Lady Nwosu, the executive director of Vivacious Development Initiative. Chuka Okoye then informed the police, who then detained the pastor.

According to information obtained by our correspondent, Orji was arraigned at a magistrate court on Tuesday in the state’s Aba South Local Government Area and remanded with a bail condition to the Abia State Correctional Center pending the outcome of his cases.

Orji has been sanctioned and removed from the ministry, according to Rev. Dr. Don Njoku, the Aba District Superintendent of the Assemblies of God Church.

He addressed the Protect the Precious Foundation, which is run by Norah Okafor.

The Assemblies of God Church is a holiness organization, and we don’t support any kind of promiscuity, Njoku said. We preach against what our pastor did. As a result, he is aware that he has been punished even though the announcement has not yet been made official.

He is aware that, according to our constitution, anyone who violates this rule will be expelled from the church. On Sunday, we will visit his church to inform the congregation to take this matter seriously and to encourage them to keep running because, even after a soldier is hit by a bullet, other soldiers do not shrink from the fight; instead, they simply need to be more vigilant.

“So Rev. Chukwuemeka Orji is obviously suspended and expelled from the ministry. Even if the government does nothing to him, this is what we do when one of our members does something similar because what he did violates everything we speak and stand for as well as what the Bible forbids.
