The Nollywood industry has been thrown into mourning after the death of veteran Yoruba actor Mukaila Adedigba also known as "Sikiru Adehina".

Kunle Iyiola Adod, a renowned Nollywood movie director and actor, confirmed the news on his Instagram page Saturday.

According to Afod, the actor passed away in the early hours of May 13, 2023. He further described the deceased as a vast repository of Yoruba knowledge and a devout believer in God.

Afod offered his prayers for the peaceful repose of the late actor's soul.

A great philosopher
An icon with so much Yoruba knowledge
A lover of God

You departed this sinful world early hour of today
May your gentle soul rest in peace,” he wrote.

Other thespians offered their word of condolences while many were struck by shock at the death of Sikiru Adeshina.

His cause of death, however, remains unknown at the time of this publication.
