Ijaw youths has reacted to the murder of British National, recalled he was kidnapped alongside his colleagues but he was unlucky as he killed.

Ian SquireIan was murdered by the supposed kidnappers while three others were released and returned safely after Nigerian police negotiated their liberty.

IYC explained the incident as unfortunate and highly condemnable, noting that it didn't reflect the nature of Niger Deltans.

An announcement by IYC President, Eric Omare, claimed the passing of the Briton was an instance of criminality and ought to be treated as such.

"The people of Niger Delta are calm and hospitable as proof by the centuries of missionaries from overseas nations having peaceful sojourn in the area", it stated.

"The perpetrators should not be permitted to go ahead.

"We again call on community and traditional leaders to encourage security representatives to aid in fishing outside offenders by their communities", he explained.

The team further revealed that it would shortly set up clan and neighborhood safety arrangements to operate with safety agencies so as to generate Ijaw communities uneasy spot for offenders.
