Nigerian comedian Bright Okpocha, better known by his stage name Basketmouth, "has announced his intention to give up comedy within the next five years."

During an interview on hitz1039fm's online radio program, the comedian made this revelation.

According to him, Basketmouth declared, "I have been floating for the past six years. Last year, I announced to my crew and to myself that I was returning to comedy. I'm giving up because I want to work for five years. After five years, I'm quitting. I have five years to finish this before I'm done."

"I will still joke around, but not in a work-related manner."

According to vanguard, "So if you see me performing, it may be pro gratis, but I won't charge anyone to see me again. I've earned enough and invested myself in the craft sufficiently to take a break or stop."

He further stated, "I am currently producing television shows, films, and concerts. I want to learn something new, and I want to be known for anything than humor."

Vanguard further reported, "I've got 5 more years till I drop the mic, Basket Mouth stated in a recent Instagram post. and I want to make each year matter."
