President Buhari will travel to the Islamic Republic of Mauritania Monday 16 January for the 'Africa Award for Strengthening peace'. Femi Adesina (Special Adviser to President on Media and Publicity) stated in a statement that the award would be given to the President for his leadership role and efforts in promoting peace and stability on the continent through regular intervention, counsel and conciliatory positions. According to the presidential spokesperson, the Abu Dhabi Peace Forum established the award in 2014 in order to promote peace and inclusive citizenship. The President will address the Third Forum for the African Conference for Peace where he will give a speech about the African Peace Process.
