The All Progressives Congress (APC), has been restrained from recognizing Ishaku Abubo as its candidate in Adamawa North at the upcoming general election by State High Court 3.

Justice Danladi Mohammed ruled Senator Abbo cannot seek re-election because he was expelled from the party.

The judge who restrained Sen. Abbo's attempt to run for the party in the zone also held that Senator Abbo and APC were bound by the resolution of Mubi Nord local government executives of the party dated 7th October 2022. This resolution expelled him and prevents him from enjoying any privileges or rights accorded to APC members.

Senator Abbo described the development as a cash and carry judgment. He told Channels Television that it is a ''bought-over'' judgment because the people who expelled him are not local government executives and have no jurisdiction to do so.

He stated that according to the constitution, only the ward executives have the authority to punish any member of the party and not the local government or even the state exco

Abbo, who disclosed that he would be appealing against the judgment, also revealed that the presiding Judge had previously issued a restrain on local government exco from parading themselves as exco.
