Gunmen have killed the chairman of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), Ibeme Ward, Isiala Mbano Local Government Area, Imo State, Ifeanyi desmond Uche.

Uche was killed in front of his Ibeme family home at 7:30 am on Wednesday, January 4, 2023.

An eyewitness said the gunmen suspected to be vigilantes arrived in a Sienna and a Lexus 300.

According to The Nation they were hired by a man to settle a dispute with the Ifeanyi about N100,000.

Victor Diala, the State Chairman of YPP confirmed the incident in a Friday, January 6th publication.

"It happened. The young man was shot right in front of his house. The funny thing is that they took his body to Federal Medical Centre, Owerri (FMC) where they tagged it ‘unknown gunman’." he said.
