Kenyan woman arraigned for biting her husband's genitals by atoluwash(m) : 4:49 am On Jan 05, 2023

A 35-year-old woman was charged with stabbing and biting her husband's genitals at Kisii in Kenya, on New Year's Eve.

Grace Oyaro was brought before the Courts' Senior principal Magistrate Caroline Ocharo on Wednesday, January 4th for causing grievous injury to Eliud Kepha. This occurred following a dispute over infidelity at their Nyanchwa estate home.

However, she denied the charges and was ordered to place a bond of Sh50,000 with another surety to ensure her release as the case progresses.

Frank Maswari, an advocate for the husband, opposed the bond terms. He said that the accused should not have to be released as his client's life was in danger.

“I oppose the bond terms, however, anybody is entitled to bond, depending on the nature of this case. My client is discharged from the hospital and will stay with the accused in the same house and his security is not granted,” Maswari stated.

Court Prosecutor Hilary Kaino agreed on the bond terms on condition that the two don’t come in contact with each other since they were in a domestic relationship.

“Let the police escort the accused to her house whenever she wants to visit until the case is over,” Kaino stated.

The case will be mentioned on January 26.

Grace was arrested on Tuesday by police officers from Nyanchwa police station after she was discharged from a private hospital in Kisii where she was undergoing treatment.

Her husband, Eliud Onuko, 38, who sustained serious injuries was rushed to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital for immediate major surgery.

According to a police report seen by Citizen digital, the two love birds had a bitter exchange over a suspected love triangle, sparking a bitter exchange between them.

Meanwhile, Kisii County Director in charge of Culture Obino Nyambane has expressed his disappointment with outrageous incidences being reported in Gusii land calling for quick intervention from the elders in Gusii land to provide guidance to the youth.
