Policemen who repelled an attack on Jibia Local Government Area in Katsina State have killed one terrorist.

Two police officers sustained different degrees of injuries while trying to stop the terrorists from fleeing.

SP Gambo Isah, spokesperson for Katsina Police Command, said that terrorists attacked the Police Nipping Point at Magama0-Hirji Junction along Jibia-Katsina Road at 4:30 am, Monday, January 2.

In response, the policemen engaged the terrorists in a gun battle and defeated them. One of them was killed.

Isah said;

“Two policemen sustained an injury during the encounter. They were taken to Jibia hospital, treated, and discharged.”

The police recovered one AK-47 rifle, four magazines containing ninety (90) rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, money, and other exhibits from them.

Isah said that search parties continue to patrol the area in an effort to find more terrorists.
