A video of a motorist asking for permission from a police officer to allow him run home to get his driver's license after he was arrested for driving without one, has sparked a debate online.

After performing a routine check, the officer discovered that the man's license was not in his possession. The officer asked the motorist for his keys, but he refused. He claimed that he had a license and wanted to go home to get it.

The viral video has prompted Nigerians to react. Some people argued that it is not the duty of police officers to check driver's licenses, while others said that the motorists is at wrong for driving without his license.
