Police in Lagos arrested an officer for allegedly shooting and killing a lawyer in the Ajah area of the state on Christmas day, December 25.

According to reports, Raheem, her sister, and four children were driving from a restaurant in their car when the officer stopped them. Eyewitnesses claim that the victim was trying to turn under the Ajah Bridge and the officer fired at her car. According to eyewitnesses, The bullet was said to have hit the victim who was immediately rushed to a hospital where she was confirmed dead.

After the unfortunate incident, a Twitter user raised the alarm.

Reacting to the incident, the spokesperson of the state police command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, described the incident as unfortunate and avoidable and stated that the officer who is an Assistant Supretendient of Police, and two others have been arrested in connection with the incident.
