Two men, Abubakar Abakar (48) and Sani Garba (50), were arrested by the police in Adamawa state for allegedly defrauding Margret James. They allegedly took N1000, a wedding dress, handset, and 3 pairs trouser from the Jimeta Ultra Modern Market.

According to reports, the victim, a 24-year-old woman whose sister was getting married, was defrauded by Usman, who met her at gate 2 of the market and asked her about the location of a shop. As she was answering, Usman asked her to comb her hair, bury the damaged ones (hair), whenever she she's about to sleep. He also asked that she continue reading Psalm 35 because he believes she has many enemies.

Garba, Usman's accomplice, ran to the victim shortly after Usman left. She suggested that they humble ourselves and follow Usman to get his number to pray with him. They met Usman who told them they had lots of enemies and that he would mention them if they didn't drag their enemies to court.

At this point, he asked Garba to hand over his polythene bag to the lady and embark on counting electric poles. Garba counted seven electric poles before returning. The lady was then asked to hand over all her possessions and count the poles the same way as Garba. They advised her to not look back as she went to count the poles.

Margret gave her all her valuables, including a wedding dress, handset and handbag, to Garba. She then began trekking and counting the electric poles. After counting the poles successfully, Margret returned to the station and couldn't find anyone of them. It was obvious that the fraudsters had tricked her.

The accused who didn't have a dime, used the N1, 000 to transport themselves and subsequently sold the handset. After a thorough investigation by police, they were arrested.

They're even smiling
