Man arraigned for stealing N1m tricycle by ayodeji11(m) : 7:02 am On Dec 22, 2022



David Ochasi (29 years old) has been arraigned before a Yaba Magistrates' Court, Lagos State, for allegedly stealing a tricycle valued at N1m in the Bariga area of the state.

Our correspondent discovered that the yellow tricycle belonged a Ayodele Olesan, who lived in the exact same area as the suspect.

Inspector Magaji Haruna (police prosecutor) told the court that the defendant committed the offense on January 25, 2022, on Odunsanya Street in Bariga.

The defendant was charged with two counts of theft.

The charges read in part, “That you, David Ochasi, and others now at large, on January 25, 2022, on Odunsanya Street, Bariga, in the Yaba Magisterial District, did steal one TVS King tricycle, with chassis number MD6M14PAXM4F04425 and engine number AK4FM4304886, yellow in colour and worth N1m, property of one Ayodele Osesan, thereby committing an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The Magistrate, O.Y. Adefope, admitted him to bail in the sum of N100,000 with one responsible surety in like sum.

The case was adjourned till February 2, 2023, for trial.
