 Imo State high court in Orlu was on Saturday, December 17, set ablaze by gunmen who targeted part of the structure housing sensitive documents. Daily Trust reported that the complex houses both the high court as well as a magistrates court. It was also discovered that the Orlu High Court, which is located near a security checkpoint and the headquarter of the police divisional chief quarter, was also set on fire in 2018. Barnabas Munonye (Orlu Branch Chairman, Nigerian Bar Association), confirmed the incident and described it as regrettable. The spokesperson for the Imo State Police Command, CSP Mike Abattam, also confirmed the incident, adding that the police have launched an investigation. |
