The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission announced that more than N30 billion of the N109 billion allegedly stolen by Idris Ahmed the suspended Accountant-General has been recovered.

This information was revealed by Abdulrasheed Bawa (Chairman of the Commission), while he appeared at the Ministerial Media Briefing, organized by Presidential Communications Team at Presidential Villa Abuja on Thursday, Dec 15.

Bawa who shared the Commission’s achievements from January to December 2022, added that they've recovered a total of N134,33,759,574.25, $121,769,076.30, £21,020.00, €156,925.00, ¥21,350.00, CFA300,000.00 among others.

Over 3,615 convictions were recorded within the period. Bawa who reiterated that the administration is serious about its anti-corruption program added that the nationwide auction of forfeited automobiles will be followed by the disposal of over 150 houses to interested buyers.
