Reno Omokri, a former presidential aide, has spoken out in support of the Central Bank of Nigeria's recently imposed cash withdrawal limit.

The CBN recently limited the maximum cash withdrawals over-the-counter (OTC), by individuals and corporate organisations per week to N100,000 and N500,000 respectively.

Omokri responded to critics of the policy by stating that no Nigerian needs more than N100K per week.

He said that everything could be done cashless, except for paying transport fares and buying groceries.

He tweeted;

"There is no Nigerian that needs more than ?100k cash weekly. Other than paying bus conductor or buying groceries, everything can be done cashless. It is kidnappers, bandits and sexual bandits (urgent 2k girls) who are fighting this policy using political godfathers"
