On Sunday, December 4, the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), arrested a Nigerian national in connection to the seizure of cocaine at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport. The amount of the cocaine was Rs 18 crore.

On Saturday, December 3, 2022, the DRI arrested a 27-year-old Kenyan man with 1,794 grams of cocaine and a 30-year-old woman from Guinea.

The passengers arrived in Addis Ababa via an Ethiopian Airlines flight.

Upon examination of their luggage, four empty handbags were recovered.

Two plastic pouches were recovered from each bag after they were cut open. In total, eight plastic pouches containing the powdery substance were recovered.

The substance was tested using a narcotics testing kit. It tested positive for 'cocaine', which is a substance that is covered by the NDPS Act 1985.

The male passenger is a clown by profession and the female passenger is engaged in the ladies' clothing business.

The three accused were produced before a court, which sent them to judicial custody, the official said.
