A suspected ritualist killed a seven-year-old girl at Kilani Street, Iyana Iyesi, Ota, Ado-Odo/Ota Regional Government Area of Ogun State, on Thursday, November 24.

Residents in the area claim that the victim was sent by her mother's neighbor to pick up something from her house. She was then killed. The girl was attacked by suspected ritualist who had been hiding in the building attacked her and smashed her head with a pestle. The girl's cry for help attracted the neighbor's attention, but she was dead before anybody could arrive at the scene.

Residents claim that the suspect, who is a ritualist, had been hibernating at an empty building in the vicinity.

“When we searched further, we discovered that the man had charms and a goat hidden in an empty building close to his victim’s house. When we got there, we saw the charm and a goat. The goat attacked one of us, but it was later killed. This is a sad occurrence'' a resident of the area said

The state police command is yet to comment on this development.
