A suspected kidnapper at Oko- Olowo in Oko- Olega, a suburb near Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State, abducted an Islamic cleric, identified as Alfa Sofiu Amolege, and his two sons on Saturday, November 19.

Residents claim that the trio was attacked at their Oko-Olowo private residence along the Ilorin Jebba expressway. The suspected kidnappers had removed the burglary of a window in the building.

Fasansi tried to flee but was stopped by his kidnappers, who reportedly fired bullets at him and also matched him. The kidnappers thought he was dead and left him in the bush. He was saved and taken to a nearby hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment.

The kidnappers have reportedly demanded a ransom of N100 million.

Confirming the incident, the spokesman of Kwara State Police Command, SP Okasanmi Ajayi, said two suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident.
