The Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly was elected.

Rt Hon Gboyega Aribisogan was elected the new Speaker. He represents Ikole in plenary on Tuesday, Nov. 15.

Aribisogan, from Ijesha-Isu in Ikole Local Government Area, was sworn in by the clerk of the House, Mr. Tola Esan.

Aribisogan succeeded the late Rt Hon Funminyi Afuye who had suffered a short illness and died in October 2022.

The late Afuye was aged 66 when he died.
