The Delta State Police Command arrested David Olori, a middle-aged man who killed his wife Oghogho Olori 42-year-old in Ozoro, Isoko North Local Government Area.

DSP Bright Edafe (the spokesperson for the command) confirmed the arrest in an announcement on Friday, November 11, 2022.

According to the PPRO police responded to a distress call received from the victim's younger brother who reported that she found her body in their apartment.

The victim's brother had visited because he had not heard from her for some time but discovered that the door to the apartment was locked.

"On 2/11/2020, the DPO Ozoro received a distress call that on the same date, the house of one Oghogho Olori ‘f’ aged 42years was visited by her younger brother who has not heard from her for some time, but he discovered that the door to the apartment was locked from outside which an offensive odor was emitting from the apartment," the statement read.

"The DPO swiftly mobilized men who broke into the apartment and discovered that the victim has been murdered and the husband was nowhere to be found.

"The Command embarked on a manhunt of the husband who was suspected to have committed the offense.

"Consequently, on 3/11/2022, the husband of the victim reported himself at the Police station and confessed to the crime stating that he murdered her over a disagreement. The investigation is ongoing."

Meanwhile, a family member of the deceased who craved anonymity, said the suspect and husband of the deceased hailed from Umolo Olomu in Ughelli South Local Government Area.

The source told Vanguard, that the couple had been married for over 15 years and had three daughters ranging from 13 to eight years.

According to the source, the 48-year-old deceased, a native of Owheologbo, was a secondary school teacher with the state government.

It was gathered that the couple was residing at Ellu in the Isoko North Area in the house built by the deceased but relocated with the kids to Owheologbo to stay with her mother due to the flood.

"Aghogho and the kids relocated to Owheologbo with the kids to stay with her mum due to the flood which affected her home. She had a disagreement with her husband David before David traveled to Bayelsa," the source said.

David returned to meet her at Owheologbo on Saturday, and the mother-in-law entertained him before he and Oghogho returned to Ellu that Saturday.

"Throughout Sunday to Wednesday, Oghogho’s number wasn’t going, only David's number was ringing but wasn’t he was not picking up. So on Wednesday our family members went to Ellu to check what was wrong,"
