Notable playwright, poet and Nobel laureate, Wole Soyinka made a surprise appearance at Felabration on sunday 15th of October 2017.

Nigerian playwright, poet and Nobel laureate, Wole Soyinka made a surprise appearance at Felabration on sunday 15th of October 2017.

The literature professor who won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1986 is the first African to be honoured in that class and a cousin of the late revolutionary African musician, Fela Kuti.

In his enthusiasm, Professor Wole Soyinka stated "I am happy to be here to observe Fela with everybody".

The festival which ran for seven days, at the New Afrika Shrine, was put together to celebrate the life and times of the great Fela Kuti.
